North Sichuan Medical University (NSMC) is the second largest University in the entire Sichuan province with both local and international enrollment. NSMC has more than 10k students in UG & PG courses together. As per its motto, NSMC has a reputation of being committed to the ideals of commitment, fraternity, honesty & creativity. It has risen to a status of national importance as a center for preventive medicine and Rheumatism. NSMC was established in 1951 which makes it a seven decades old university. Many major hospitals are affiliated to NSMC but the one worth mentioning is the Nanchong Central Hospital. Now, this Hospital is under the direct jurisdiction of NSMC and is acknowledged ubiquitously as being one of the best Hospitals in northeast Sichuan.

NSMC has two campuses – the old campus or the west campus is Nanchong City downtown and the new or east campus located in Gaoping District. NSMC has a state-of-the-art library that has as many as 930k books including Chinese, English & other languages. It also has over 17k periodicals that are electronic. With a balance between the curricular and extra-curricular, the NSMC is ideal for your all-round development.

Hostel and facilities
The in-campus accommodation at North Sichuan Medical University comprises of hostels. Generally the rooms are allotted on a dual-sharing basis. The rooms come furnished with essentials like beds, study tables, cabinets, wardrobes, water dispenser, etc. and additional facilities like broadband services, television, air conditioning, geyser, etc. The hostel is guarded by security professionals round the clock and there is also a hostel warden to whom students can convey their concerns or any relevant regards. A certain amount of electricity units and water usage is allotted to the student by the hostel administration without any cost charged. In case the students use either of the services excessively, they must clear the dues within the first week of the next month at the Centre of Dormitory Management.
