A government University with an almost 9 decades old legacy, Guangxi Medical University is an option worth noticing, especially for Indian students. GXMU was voted to be one of the top 20 Medical Universities in China in 2010 which is no mean achievement. Thomson Reuters ‘Web of Science’ has categorized the Clinical Medicine section of GXMU as being among world’s top 1%. GXMU is one of the first Universities in China to accept international students. GXMU is considered to be a great asset to the regional government as a part of the Medical infrastructure. It is the hub of medical education, research, treatment, prevention & overall healthcare. GXMU has a sorted out academic structure with separate sections catering to UG, PG doctoral programs & other training programs. Currently, GXMU has 20 institutes offering 27 undergraduate programs, 6 affiliated hospitals & 11 non-affiliated hospitals and has 25635 full-time students.

About Campus life
GXMU is located in Nanning, the capital of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, is locally described as ‘a beautiful city’. The city is k/as “Green City” & “Garden City”. The weather is temperate, view is beautiful & the air is clean & fresh, they say. The campus @ Guangxi is spread over 400k sq m. For food, the campus has a students’ restaurant. It has a gym, a swimming pool, etc. and sport is reasonably promoted. The International student dormitory has regular internet. There are supermarkets and stores in the campus too.

The accommodation and other facilities include in-campus hostels, libraries, sports center, grocery stores, Indian mess facilities, etc. Let us get into it briefly one by one. Beginning with hostels, there are fully furnished rooms available at the hostel buildings in Guangxi University. The furnishing here is inclusive of beds, study tables, storage facilities, attached washrooms, balcony and so on. Moving to the library, there is an eight floor library in which one of the floors is specifically for English readers.
In the sports center, there is swimming pool, basketball court, badminton court, etc. so that students can remain physically fit. Like it was mentioned earlier, a small shopping center is located within the University only. Hence, it eliminates the need to go outside the campus for basic things which you can buy at this shopping center only. Here’s the most significant of all the facilities, the food. Much to your relief, Indian food is available at the mess where one can find numerous items on menu to choose from.
